Covid-19 Message from the SKNTA President.
To our beloved tennis family while we continue to hear everything unfold during this Covid-19 pandemic, we at SKNTA wish all of us continued good health and safety.
This therefore serves as an update regarding our response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to assess the impact of the outbreak on all our events in consultation with independent medical and Governmental officials. The suspension of these events are with these factors in mind and will continue until the nation is free of any cases of the Virus. We are committed to making decisions based on expert advice to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved in our events, while providing as much certainty and notice as possible to minimize disruption.
Please let us continue to maintain the admonition to adhere to the national curfew and emergency power regulations now in place. Equally important, please let us continue washing hands and maintaining social and physical distancing. The authorities continue to share the kind of information that we need. Even in the absence of complete knowledge or current status of the person next to you, let’s let wisdom and good sense prevail and guard our actions and our families.
These are difficult decisions, but the health and safety of everyone involved in our events must be the priority as well as providing certainty for all participants.
I must confess I do miss a little game here and there and would have loved for our social Make-A-friend and Easter tournaments. Let’s continue to pray for containment and eradication of the virus from our shores. Be safe and remain calm.
Lets also remember to stay active. A good doctor, who is one of us, told me yesterday to do such things as skipping rope, walking around the house and even dancing to stay fit during these unprecedented times.
God bless you all
President – SKNTA
